Wuhan Aerospace City Hospital — Integrated Medical Furniture Project

Project Background

Wuhan Tongji Aerospace City Hospital (武汉同济航天城医院) is a large-scale medical centre supporting the Wuhan National Aerospace Industrial Base and surrounding national-level emerging industry zones. Planned as a Grade III Class A general hospital with 1,000 beds, the facility serves residents of Wuhan’s Yangtze New Area and eastern Hubei, and is one of Wuhan’s ‘Four Districts, Two Hospitals’ priority infrastructure projects. ZHOBAI Medical Furniture was appointed as the one-stop furniture partner for the project’s clinical furniture programme.

The scale and prestige of this project demanded a high-specification furniture solution that matched the hospital’s architectural ambition. ZHOBAI’s design team developed tailored furniture specifications for each clinical zone — from the grand service centre reception hall with its integrated curved counter to the meticulously detailed treatment rooms and nursing stations. The service centre counter was designed in a square format integrated with the square hall, with rounded corners to improve safety and spatial flow, finished to highlight the hospital’s modern institutional image.

Scope of Supply

ZHOBAI delivered a fully coordinated furniture package manufactured in-house to GB/T medical-grade standards, with CE and ISO 13485 documentation at handover:

• Service Centre Reception Counters: Monumental square-format guidance desk integrated with the hall architecture — custom-dimensioned curved corners, dual-sided service window, and integrated information display mounting.
• Nursing Stations: Custom-built counter systems with integrated medication bays, dual-zone clean/contaminated workflow separation, anti-collision rounded edges, and cable management across all inpatient nursing floors.
• Treatment & Sterile Rooms: Floor-to-ceiling medical cabinet systems with upper double-door sterile storage, middle adjustable shelving, and lower sterile cabinets elevated 200 mm above floor to prevent bacterial and moisture ingress.
• Ward Furniture: Hospital beds, bedside cabinets, over-bed tables, escort chairs, and IV stands across all inpatient room categories.
• Outpatient & Waiting Areas: Consultation workstations, examination tables, infusion chairs, and high-capacity waiting seating.
