Nanbu County Women and Children’s Health Hospital — MCH Furniture Project

Project Background

Nanbu County Women and Children’s Health Hospital is the primary specialist MCH facility for Nanbu County, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, providing comprehensive obstetric, neonatal, and paediatric services. A new-build facility development required a complete furniture fit-out covering all MCH clinical environments, from the labour and delivery suite to the NICU, paediatric wards, and outpatient clinics. ZHOBAI Medical Furniture was appointed as the one-stop furniture partner.

ZHOBAI’s design team developed tailored furniture specifications for each clinical zone, recognising the distinct requirements of maternity, neonatal, and paediatric environments. Obstetric beds were specified with dual-position delivery functionality; NICU care station counters were configured at lower height for direct nurse access to incubators; paediatric ward beds were sized for children with full-perimeter safety rails. All patient-facing furniture was finished in warm, reassuring colourways to support a positive birth and recovery environment.

Scope of Supply

ZHOBAI delivered a fully coordinated furniture package manufactured in-house to GB/T medical-grade standards, with CE and ISO 13485 documentation at handover:

• Maternity & Delivery Wards: Adjustable obstetric beds with delivery functionality, bedside cabinets, over-bed tables, and IV poles across all antenatal and postnatal rooms.
• NICU & Neonatal Areas: Low-profile neonatal care station counters with direct incubator access, neonatal instrument storage carts, and family rest seating.
• Paediatric Wards: Child-sized ward beds with integrated full-perimeter safety rails, co-ordinated bedside cabinets, and child-appropriate colourways.
• Nursing Stations: Custom guidance desks with integrated medication storage, clean/contaminated zone separation, and anti-collision rounded edges.
• Lactation & Family Rooms: Privacy screening, nursing chairs, and family rest furniture for mothers and family members.
• Sterile & Storage Rooms: Floor-to-ceiling medical cabinet systems elevated 200 mm above floor, dressing trolleys, and preparation-room counters.

Project Highlights

• MCH-Specific Design: Every item was specified for MCH clinical requirements — from dual-position obstetric beds to low-height NICU station counters — not adapted from general-hospital designs.
• Child-Safe & Infection Control: Zero sharp corners in paediatric zones; all surfaces in easy-clean materials rated for chemical disinfectant; antibacterial fabric on patient seating.
• Family-Centred Care: Escort seating, lactation room furniture, and family rest areas integrated throughout to support the hospital’s family-centred care model.
• End-to-End Delivery: Survey, design, manufacturing, and installation all managed by ZHOBAI’s own project team, on schedule with the hospital’s opening programme.
