Macheng Women and Children’s Health Hospital — MCH Furniture Project

Project Background

Macheng Women and Children’s Health Hospital (麻城市妇幼保健院) is the primary specialist MCH facility for Macheng City, Huanggang City, Hubei Province, providing comprehensive obstetric, neonatal, and paediatric services. A facility development project in 2022 required a complete MCH furniture fit-out covering maternity wards, the delivery suite, paediatric wards, neonatal areas, and outpatient clinics. ZHOBAI Medical Furniture was appointed as the one-stop furniture partner.

ZHOBAI developed MCH-specific furniture specifications for each clinical zone — dual-position obstetric beds for the labour and delivery suite, low-height neonatal care station counters for direct incubator access in the neonatal unit, and child-sized ward beds with full-perimeter safety rails in the paediatric ward. All patient-facing furniture was finished in warm, welcoming colourways to create a reassuring environment for mothers and young patients, consistent with the hospital’s family-centred care model.

Scope of Supply

ZHOBAI delivered a fully coordinated furniture package manufactured in-house to GB/T medical-grade standards, with CE and ISO 13485 documentation at handover:

• Maternity & Delivery Wards: Adjustable obstetric beds with delivery functionality, bedside cabinets, over-bed tables, and IV poles across all antenatal and postnatal rooms.
• Neonatal Areas: Low-profile neonatal care station counters for direct incubator access, neonatal equipment storage carts, and family rest seating.
• Paediatric Wards: Child-sized ward beds with integrated full-perimeter safety rails, co-ordinated bedside cabinets, and child-appropriate colourways.
• Nursing Stations: Custom counter systems with integrated medication storage, clean/contaminated zone separation, and anti-collision rounded edges across all nursing floors.
• Lactation & Family Support Areas: Privacy screening, nursing chairs, and family rest furniture throughout the facility.
• Sterile & Treatment Rooms: Floor-to-ceiling medical cabinet systems elevated 200 mm above floor, dressing trolleys, and preparation counters.

• Child-Safe & Infection Control: Zero sharp corners in paediatric zones; all surfaces in easy-clean materials rated for chemical disinfectant; antibacterial fabric on patient seating.
• Family-Centred Care Environment: Lactation room furniture and family rest seating integrated throughout to support the hospital’s family-centred care model.
• End-to-End Delivery: Survey, design, manufacturing, and installation all managed by ZHOBAI’s own project team, delivered on schedule with the hospital’s opening programme.
