Dechang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital — Medical Furniture Fit-Out

Project Background

Dechang County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital (德昌县中医医院) is the primary public TCM hospital for Dechang County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. A new-build facility development in 2026 required a comprehensive medical furniture solution covering all TCM and integrated clinical environments, from inpatient wards and TCM treatment rooms to the acupuncture and moxibustion departments and herbal dispensary. ZHOBAI Medical Furniture was selected as the one-stop furniture partner.

The project combined standard medical ward furniture with bespoke TCM-specific clinical furniture, including adjustable treatment tables for acupuncture and tuina therapy, specialised herbal dispensary counters with multi-drawer herb storage, and waiting furniture styled to complement the hospital’s traditional Chinese design aesthetic. ZHOBAI’s design team worked with the hospital to ensure each clinical zone received furniture tailored to its specific therapeutic workflow, while maintaining consistent infection-control standards throughout.

Scope of Supply

ZHOBAI delivered a fully coordinated furniture package manufactured in-house to GB/T medical-grade standards, with CE and ISO 13485 documentation at handover:

• Inpatient Ward Furniture: Hospital beds with adjustable backrest, co-ordinated bedside cabinets, over-bed tables, folding escort chairs, and IV stands across all ward room types.
• TCM Treatment Tables: Adjustable-height treatment tables with face-hole and arm-rest options for acupuncture, tuina, and moxibustion therapy — padded surfaces in antibacterial PU material.
• Herbal Dispensary Counters: Custom multi-drawer herb-storage counters with solid wood or wood-look finish, integrated scale platforms, and double-sided service windows.
• Nursing Stations: Custom-built counter systems with integrated medication storage, dual-zone workflow separation, and anti-collision rounded edges across all nursing floors.
• Outpatient & Waiting Areas: TCM consultation workstations, waiting-area seating in style coordinated with the hospital’s traditional Chinese interior design scheme.
• Sterile & Treatment Rooms: Floor-to-ceiling medical cabinet systems elevated 200 mm above floor, dressing trolleys, and preparation counters.

Project Highlights

• TCM-Specific Design: Treatment tables, herbal dispensary counters, and consultation furniture were designed specifically for TCM clinical workflows — not adapted from general hospital designs.
• Cultural Design Coherence: Outpatient and waiting-area furniture was finished in warm, traditional Chinese aesthetic colourways to complement the hospital’s design language.
• Infection Control Throughout: All patient-contact surfaces in antibacterial materials; sterile storage elevated 200 mm above floor; chemical-disinfectant rated finishes across all clinical zones.
• End-to-End Delivery: Survey, design, manufacturing, and installation all coordinated by ZHOBAI’s own project team, on schedule with the hospital’s opening programme.
