Changzhou Xitaihu Emergency Medical Center — Rapid Deployment Furniture Project

Project Background

The Changzhou Xitaihu Emergency Medical Center (常州西太湖方舱医院) is a purpose-built emergency field hospital established in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province to provide large-scale surge capacity for infectious disease management and public health emergency response. The facility, configured in a field-hospital format with modular patient zones, required a rapid furniture fit-out solution that could be deployed, reconfigured, and expanded as the patient census demanded. ZHOBAI Medical Furniture was appointed to supply and install the complete medical furniture package.

The nature of field-hospital operations required furniture that was highly mobile, easy to clean, durable under intensive use, and capable of being reconfigured rapidly to adapt to evolving clinical needs. ZHOBAI’s mobile nursing station modules, lightweight ward beds, and reconfigurable storage carts were selected to meet these requirements. The entire furniture programme was delivered and installed within an accelerated deployment timeline aligned with the facility’s activation schedule.

Scope of Supply

ZHOBAI delivered a fully coordinated furniture package manufactured in-house to GB/T medical-grade standards, with CE and ISO 13485 documentation at handover:

• Mobile Nursing Station Modules: Compact, wheeled nursing command posts with integrated medication storage, sharps disposal, and charging points — repositionable as patient zone layouts evolve.
• Ward Beds & Bedside Furniture: Lightweight hospital beds with fold-flat baseboard for storage, co-ordinated bedside cabinets, and IV stands — all fully mobile and easy to disinfect.
• Treatment & Medication Carts: Stainless steel treatment trolleys and medicine distribution carts — waterproof, rust-proof, wipe-clean on all surfaces.
• Isolation & Screening: Mobile partition screens for patient privacy and zone separation within open-plan wards.
• Sterile Storage: Portable sterile storage cabinets with transparent doors for visual stock control without opening.
